Lyons Tales: A Review & Preview of Mount Holyoke Athletics for Nov. 26th

RIDING

The equestrian team was idle last week, but returns to action on December 8 when it participates in the Holiday Tournament of Champions.

SWIMMING & DIVING

The Lyons were idle for the holiday break, but return to the pool on Saturday when they host the MHC Invitational begining at 10am at the MHC Natatorium.

BASKETBALL

Mount Holyoke shouldered a tough loss at nationally-ranked Amherst (62-32) last week. The Lyons were led by first year Genelle Green (Windsor, Conn.), who posted 10 points and nine rebounds to carry the offense. MHC (1-2) is back on the court this week, opening its NEWMAC schedule at home against Smith College on Wednesday. The game, which begins at 7pm at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium, can be followed via live stats at http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/livestats/xlive.htm. The Lyons then travel to Babson on Saturday, for a conference tilt at 1pm.

SQUASH

Under the direction of interim head coach Erin Robson, the squash team opens its 2012-13 schedule on Saturday at the Wesleyan Round Robin, hosted by Wesleyan University. The Lyons will battle William Smith College to open the day at 11:30am before closing action at 5pm that evening against Tufts University.

TRACK & FIELD

The Lyons open their indoor campaign on Saturday, traveling to Northampton to compete in the Smith College Winter Classic. The meet gets underway at 11am. MHC looks to build upon its success from last season, led by 28th-year head coach Tina Lee.
