Lyons Tales: A Review & Preview of Mount Holyoke Athletics for May 13th

TRACK & FIELD

First year Camille Coklow represented the Lyons at the 2013 New England Open Championships, a multi-divisional meet which took place at Stonehill College.  She posted a preliminary time of 12.27 in the 100-meter dash, which was the fastest preliminary time she has achieved during the outdoor season in her event. The mark was not enough to move her into the event finals.

Coklow will continue her season next weekend at the 2013 ECAC Championships, hosted by Springfield College.

LACROSSE

Mount Holyoke (13-4; 4-2 NEWMAC) claimed its first-ever ECAC New England Championship title on Sunday in a 17-16 victory over Western New England. The Lyons posted a 16-6 win over Southern Maine in Saturday's semifinals.  Senior goalie Liz Malenfant was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player after posting 33 saves, including 22 in the title win over the Golden Bears.

The Lyons capped the best year in program history with the record for wins in a season (13). Additionally, first year attack Catherine Ryan tied the school record for assists in a season (47).
