Lyons Tales: A Review & Preview of Mount Holyoke Athletics for May 9th

RIDING

Mount Holyoke saw a number of outstanding rides over a three-day period at the 2016 IHSA National Championships. The Lyons, who were 11th after the first day of action, rebounded with a stellar effort on day two, holding on to finish as the Reserve Champions at this year's show. Among the incredible efforts for MHC included a win by sophomore Sabrina Fox (Westfield, Mass.) in Collegiate Cup Walk-Trot-Canter, a victory that pushed the Lyons into second overall for good. Mount Holyoke concluded its season at Nationals in a year which they won seven shows, including the Regional title, were third at the Tournament of Champions and second at the Zone Championships.

TRACK & FIELD

Mount Holyoke wrapped up the 2016 season at the 2016 Division III New England Championships, hosted by Springfield College, last weekend. The Lyons were represented by first year Donari Yahzid (Atlanta, Ga.), who finished 18th overall in the long jump competition.
