Lyons Tales: A Review & Preview of Mount Holyoke Athletics for Mar. 21st

RIDING

Mount Holyoke is back in action on Saturday when it competes at the UMass Show. 

 

SWIMMING & DIVING

For the third straight season, senior captain Cathleen Pruden (Raleigh, N.C.) represented the Lyons at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C. Pruden had an outstanding effort at this year's meet, finishing third in the 400-IM to earn her third straight National All-America honor. She also posted 14th overall in the 200-IM to earn Honorable Mention All-America and was 18th overall in ther 1650-freestyle. Pruden concluded her collegiate career at this year's Nationals, solidifying herself as one of the greatest athletes in Mount Holyoke history.

 

TRACK & FIELD

Mount Holyoke returns to action on Saturday when it opens its outdoor season at the Wesleyan Invitational.

 

LACROSSE

The Lyons recorded their first victory of 2016 last week, posting an 11-10 overtime win against Fitchburg State during spring break action in Clermont, Fla. Senior captain and attack Catherine Ryan (Longmeadow, Mass.) posted four assists in the game to become the program's all-time leader in career assists (125). The Lyons (1-2) are back in action on Wednesday when they host Western New England at 5pm. MHC concludes the week at Skidmore on Saturday (1pm). TENNIS

Mount Holyoke (8-5) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Trinity College at 11am.

 

ROWING

The Lyons has a successful training trip to Georgia and return to Massachusetts ready to go. MHC will kick-off its busy 2016 schedule on Saturday when it travels to Amherst for a race against the Jeffs.
