LACROSSE

The Lyons shouldered a pair of losses to #14 Amherst and Wellesley last week. Senior captain Kirsten Kilburn (North Branford, Conn.) recorded five goals in the loss to the nationally-ranked Jeffs. Mount Holyoke (5-9; 2-5 NEWMAC) concludes its regular season schedule on Wednesday, hosting Smith College at 6pm. The Lyons need a victory and an Emerson loss to Springfield to secure the final spot in the upcoming NEWMAC Tournament. The Lyons placed fifth overall in the one-day Jack Leaman Invitational last weekend. Senior captain Madi Mendiola (San Diego, Calif.) led the way, finishing fifth overall with a score of 80 on the day. Mount Holyoke now sets its sights toward next weekend as it looks to defend its Liberty League Championship title. The 2015 championships, which are hosted by William Smith College, will begin on Saturday at the Clifton Springs Country Club. Action will conclude on Sunday. The winner of this year's championship will also earn the automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament - which is in effect for the first time since the Lyons joined in 2012-13.

RIDING

The Lyons remain idle until April 30 when they compete at the 2015 IHSA National Championships, which will take place at the Eastern States Exposition (Big E) in West Springfield from April 30-May3.
