Lyons Tales: A Review & Preview of Mount Holyoke Athletics for Mar. 31st

 

RIDING

The Lyons officially won the Regional Championship last weekend and will now send 12 riders to the Zone Championships on Saturday at the MHC Equestrian Center. Last weekend's action saw a number of outstanding efforts, including senior Felicia Harrsch (Lansdale, Pa.), who was named the Reserve High Point Open rider, while also claiming the title of High Point Open Fences rider title. 

TRACK & FIELD

The Lyons will open the outdoor portion of their schedule on Saturday at the Weselyan Invitational (11am).

LACROSSE

MHC posted a 1-1 record last week, defeating Westfield State (17-13) before falling to Babson (17-8). Sophomore Julia Bell (Longmeadow, Mass.) paced the offense with 10 goals and two assists on the week. The Lyons (4-5; 0-2 NEWMAC) return to the field on Thursday when they host Western Connecticut State at 6pm on the Turf Field. MHC closes out the week on Saturday at Wellesley (12pm).  Live links for both games can be found HERE.

TENNIS

MHC (7-7) posted a 9-0 victory over Colby-Sawyer last weekend. Each member of the lineup won at both singles and doubles to pace the way. The Lyons are back on the court on Saturday when they compete at Connecticut College at 10:30am.

CREW

The Lyons opened their spring slate on Saturday at the Amherst 4's Regatta where all three boats had outstanding results. Leading the way was the 1V4 boat, which finished second in the 1800m race with a time of 6:59. Mount Holyoke returns to action on Sunday when it competes at Tufts University.
