Lyons Tales: A Review & Preview of Mount Holyoke Athletics for May 5th

RIDING

The Lyons concluded their season last weekend, finishing seventh overall at the 2014 IHSA National Championships. MHC was led by a number of strong rides, including an individual National Champion title for senior Felicia Harrsch (Lansdale, Pa.), who won the Open Equitation Over Fences event. 

TRACK & FIELD

The Lyons placed 20th overall at the 2014 New England Division III Championships last weekend. MHC was paced by sophomore Camille Coklow (Chicago, Ill.), who won the 100-meter dash, and by junior Amber Legare (Chicopee, Mass.), who eclipsed her own school record in the Heptathlon. Mount Holyoke is back in action on Friday as several competitors head to Westfield State University to compete at the Open New England Championships. Action runs through Saturday.

CREW

The Lyons were in action at the New England Championship Regatta last weekend. MHC saw a number of solid finishes, including in the Novice Eight, which finished second in its heat and third overall in the Grand Final. The Lyons' varsity eight boat placed third in the Third Final. Mount Holyoke is back on the water on Sunday when it competes in the ECAC Championships, hosted at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester.
