Squash Falls to Perennial Powerhouse Trinity in Regular Season Finale

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Feb. 18, 2012) – The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team closed out its regular season with a 9-0 loss to fifth-ranked Trinity College this afternoon. With their win, the Bantams improved to 15-3 on the year.

Mount Holyoke rounded out its regular season with an overall record of 16-9. The 14th-ranked Lyons have positioned themselves to once again compete for the Kurtz Cup (B Division) at next weekend's CSA National Championships. Tournament action is slated to take place at Harvard University from Friday through Sunday.

The hosts received an outstanding performance from first year Dachelle Parker, who took the first two games of her number eight match against Whitney Hartmeyer before falling 3-2.

Mount Holyoke's top two players also came up with solid outings. Sophomore Randima Ranaweera suffered a 3-1 setback to Natalie Babjukova at the number one slot. Meanwhile, senior Shara Robertson was downed 3-1 by Jennifer Pelletier in the number two contest.

Trinity's remaining victories came from Robyn Hodgson, Andrea Echeverria, Pamela Larromana, Chanel Erasmus, Katie Wymard and Melva Lopez.
