SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Nov. 19, 2011) – The Mount Holyoke College squash team opened up its 2011-12 slate with a pair of shutout victories over Smith College and Tufts University in front of its home crowd today. Over the course of the day, the Lyons dropped just four games.

Mount Holyoke opened the day with its tenth straight triumph over Smith. It was more of the same in Mount Holyoke's second match of the day against Tufts. The Lyons used the same lineup to defeat the Jumbos for the second year in a row.

In today's other contest, Tufts handed Smith a 6-3 setback.

Mount Holyoke (2-0) will return to action tomorrow, when it travels to Williams College for a pair of matches against perennial powers. After facing off against Princeton University at 10:00 a.m., the Lyons will square off against Cornell University at 2:00 p.m. Smith (3-3) and Tufts (2-1) will both be off until the first week of December.
