Mount Holyoke College Athletic Training

The Mount Holyoke College Athletic Training staff provides prevention, evaluation, management and treatment of athletic injuries sustained by varsity athletes. Its staff includes licensed and board certified athletic trainers and orthopedic physicians. The staff is committed to providing the best possible care for all student-athletes through continuum of care.

Athletic Trainers are healthcare professionals who are qualified and proficient in:

  • Examination and Diagnosis

  • Treatment and Rehabilitation of Neuro-musculoskeletal Conditions

Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 7:00 pm or end of last practice/contest 

(Excluding Holidays and Finals)

  • 8:00 am to 9:00 am - Drop-In Hours for Morning Practices

  • 9:00 am to 3:30 pm - By Appointment

  • 3:30 pm to 4:45 pm - Drop-In Hours for Afternoon Practices

  • 4:45 pm to close - Covering Afternoon Practices/Contest. 

Evening availability is contest dependent. Please refer to the whiteboard outside AT room for day’s events.

Visiting Team Information

The athletic training room will open 1.5-2.0 hours prior to all athletic events. Certified athletic trainers will be on site for all home events with the exception of golf and equestrian.

Game Supplies

Mount Holyoke will provide water, cups, ice, crutches, splints and an AED for all home contests.

Teams Traveling without an ATC

If your team will not be traveling with a certified athletic trainer, the ATCs at Mount Holyoke will be happy to provide heat, ice or taping before and after the contest. We ask that the visiting team phone the athletic training room with any special requests. Also, all teams must arrive with a medical kit stocked with the supplies they will need. 

Reminders

Medical Clearance Requirements are due every year. 

Please refer to “MORE+” Section for more information regarding EAPs per Venue and the MHC Concussion Policy.

  • Do not move a downed athlete.  Do not turn over or try to help the athlete up.

  • No street glasses allowed-wear contacts or polycarbonate goggles- not street glasses.

  • Jewelry rules in accordance with your specific sport.  It is highly encouraged to not wear any jewelry while practicing/competing.

  • Athletes are responsible to have available any appropriate medications for allergies (epi-pen), asthma (inhalers), or any other medical conditions that require additional items.
