WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (Feb. 11, 2012) – The Mount Holyoke College squash team split a pair of matches at Williams College this afternoon. After dropping an 8-1 decision to Williams, the Lyons bounced back with a 9-0 triumph over St. Lawrence University. They entered the weekend ranked 13th in the latest CSA National Rankings. Junior Kathryn Brummer came out on top in both contests.

Mount Holyoke dropped just one game in its shutout victory over St. Lawrence. The most competitive match was between Robertson and Brigette Tousignant at the top of the ladder. After dropping the first game, Robertson rallied back to take the next three by scores of 11-8, 16-14 and 11-7. Mount Holyoke's remaining wins came from sophomore Katrina Intal, first year Kristina Myren, Brummer, senior Marie Ozanne, first year Dachelle Parker, sophomore Elyse Taylor, senior Sarah Moore and first year Samantha Rosado.

Earlier in the day, the Lyons fell 8-1 to 12th-ranked Williams despite outstanding performances from the top of their lineup. Sophomore Randima Ranaweera and Robertson were each edged in five games, while Intal fell in four. Brummer got the guests on the board with a thrilling 3-2 triumph over Hannah Kaemmer at the sixth spot. The remaing five matches all went to Williams in three games.

Mount Holyoke (16-8) will put the finishing touches on its regular season slate next Saturday at home against perennial power Trinity College.
