THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke faces off against the Coast Guard Academy Wednesday evening (7:00 p.m.) at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium. In 21 previous meetings between the NEWMAC foes, the Lyons own a 15-6 advantage. They cruised to a 48-30 victory when the two squads faced off on January 19. MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (7-15, 5-11 NEWMAC) has been hot of late, winning five of its last nine games. The Lyons picked up a thrilling 44-39 victory over MIT on Saturday. Trailing by 17 points with just over 13 minutes to go, they staged a furious comeback to seal their fifth NEWMAC triumph of the season. Guard Angelica Pascual has drained 40 three-pointers en route to a points per game average of 13.2. She has pulled down 5.4 rebounds per game to go with 35 assists and 27 steals. Her 37 points against Agnes Scott College were a program record. Mount Holyoke has also received a boost from forward Tricia Chase, who has amassed 8.5 points and 6.8 boards per outing. Guard Christine Chancy has delivered 7.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest to go with 50 assists. The Lyons have collected 314 offensive boards this winter.

Opponent Logo THE BEARS: Coast Guard has suffered 18 straight setbacks after beginning the year with an overall record of 2-2. The Bears have defeated Wheelock College (87-31) and the Merchant Marine Academy (62-45) thus far this season. They have been paced by forward Larla Brown, who has amassed 14.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per outing to go with 35 assists, 27 steals and 19 blocked shots. She has started all 22 games for Coast Guard. Fellow rookie Kaitlin Ward has recorded 9.6 points per game to go with 46 steals. Meanwhile, guard Karli Collins has chipped in with 7.0 points and a squad best 7.5 boards per contest. Forward Allison Majcher has come up with a team high 31 blocked shots. As a team, the Bears have averaged 43.9 points per game.

NEXT UP: Both squads will closed out their 2010-11 seasons in front of their home crowds on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Mount Holyoke will host undefeated Babson College, while Coast Guard will entertain Clark University.
