NEW LONDON, Conn. (Jan. 19, 2011) – Sophomore Angelica Pascual recorded 15 points to boost the Mount Holyoke College women's basketball team to a 48-30 triumph over the Coast Guard Academy this evening. The Bears finished with a 37-34 advantage on the glass.

Senior forward Joanna McDonough got the rally started with a short jumper at the 9:32 mark. Hollinger then put the Lyons in front 18-11 with 7:45 remaining in the opening frame.
Mount Holyoke took a 26-18 advantage into the locker room. Pascual netted eight of her 15 points before the intermission, knocking down a pair of treys in the final three minutes. Collins led the Bears with five points at the break.
The Lyons then outscored Coast Guard 22-12 in the second stanza to put things away. They created separation with a 13-4 spurt down the stretch. Pascual collected six points during the run, which covered nearly five minutes. Her final basket of the night gave her team a 45-26 cushion at the 2:59 mark. The Lyons led by as many as 20 points (48-28) in the final minute.
Mount Holyoke (3-11, 2-7 NEWMAC) will resume its NEWMAC schedule on Saturday, when it visits Wheaton College at 2:00 p.m.
