THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke hosts NEWMAC foe Clark University Saturday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium. In 34 previous meetings between the programs, the Cougars own a 24-10 advantage. They were edged 60-57 by the Lyons when the two squads faced off on December 9. Led by Christine Chancy, Mount Holyoke overcame a 14 point halftime deficit to defeat Clark for the third time in a row. The guard exploded for 13 points, draining a pair of three-pointers in the process. Forward Megan Grondin paced the Cougars with 17 points off the bench. Game Program

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (5-14, 3-10 NEWMAC) has been hot of late, winning three of its last six games. The Lyons have defeated the Coast Guard Academy (48-30), Johnson and Wales University (67-50), Wellesley College (46-44), Vassar College (54-51) and Clark University (60-57) thus far this season. Guard Angelica Pascual has drained 34 three-pointers en route to a points per game average of 12.5. She has pulled down 5.3 rebounds per game to go with 33 assists and 21 steals. Her 37 points against Agnes Scott College were a program record. Mount Holyoke has also received a boost from forward Tricia Chase, who has amassed 8.7 points and 6.6 boards per outing. Guard Christine Chancy has delivered 7.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest to go with 45 assists. The Lyons have collected 264 offensive boards this winter.

THE COUGARS: Clark has prevailed six time in its last nine outings. The Cougars picked up key victories over WPI (53-51) and Wheaton College (60-53) in the last week. They have been paced by guard Emily Reilly, who has canned 23 three-pointers on her way to 13.6 points per game. The rookie has also chipped in with 4.6 rebounds per outing, 34 assists and 27 steals. Backcourt mate Ashleigh Condon has collected 63 assists and 33 steals to go with 9.5 points per game. Meanwhile, forward Megan Grondin has also contributed 9.5 points per contest. Fellow forward Kate Minister has delivered 6.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, while guard Ivori Aiken has averaged 5.7 points and 4.7 rebounds. Clark has also received a boost from forward Esther Cohn, who has gathered 6.2 rebounds per game off the bench. 

NEXT UP: Both squads will resume their NEWMAC schedules on Wednesday. Mount Holyoke will visit WPI at 7:30 p.m., while Clark will host Smith College at 5:00 p.m.
