THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke hosts non-conference foe Johnson and Wales University this evening (7:00 p.m.) at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium. This will be the first ever meeting between the two programs. Game Program

MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (3-12, 2-8 NEWMAC) has picked up wins over Vassar College (54-51), Clark University (60-57) and the Coast Guard Academy (48-30) thus far this season. The Lyons have been paced by guard Angelica Pascual, who has racked up a team best 12.4 points per game to go with 24 assists. Seven of her 26 three-pointers came in a heartbreaking 62-60 setback in the opening game of the Seven Sisters Classic. Pascual finished with a program record 37 points in the contest. She was joined on the All-Classic Team by forward Tricia Chase, who has averaged 7.7 points and a squad high 6.3 rebounds per outing. Guard Christine Chancy has posted 7.1 points and 5.1 boards per game to go with a team best 34 assists. Meanwhile, forward Bree Hollinger has pulled down 5.8 rebounds per contest for Mount Holyoke, which has amassed 211 offensive boards over its first 15 games.

Opponent Logo THE WILDCATS: Johnson and Wales (5-12, 2-2 GNAC) snapped a three game losing slide with a 67-44 victory over Rivier College on Saturday. It was the Wildcats' fifth win of the season and their second in league play. They have also defeated the Coast Guard Academy (55-51), Fisher College (63-52), Plymouth State University (78-66) and Simmons College (58-52). Guard Morgan Wilson has recorded team highs of 13.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per outing to lead the way. Her 35 steals and 11 blocked shots are also good for tops on the squad. Fellow guard Marina Millian has amassed 13.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game to go with 34 assists. Meanwhile, forward Ayla Walter has chipped in with 9.4 points and 5.8 boards per contest. Guard Jenna Juron has dished out a team high 49 assists for Johnson and Wales, which competes in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.  

NEXT UP: Both squads are slated to resume their league schedules later this week. Mount Holyoke will visit Springfield College for a NEWMAC tilt beginning at 7:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Johnson and Wales will host GNAC foe Albertus Magnus College on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
