THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (4-13, 2-9 NEWMAC) has been hot of late, winning two of its last four games. After topping the Coast Guard Academy (48-30) last week, the Lyons downed Johnson and Wales University (67-50) on Monday. They have also defeated Vassar College (54-51) and Clark University (60-57) thus far this season. Guard Angelica Pascual has drained 28 three-pointers en route to a points per game average of 11.7. She has pulled down 5.4 rebounds per game to go with 28 assists and 18 steals. Her 37 points against Agnes Scott College were a program record. Mount Holyoke has also received a boost from forward Tricia Chase, who has amassed 8.5 points and 6.6 boards per outing. Guard Christine Chancy has delivered 7.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest to go with 40 assists. Meanwhile, forward Bree Hollinger has pulled down 5.4 rebounds per game for Mount Holyoke, which has collected 241 offensive boards.

THE BLUE: Wellesley (9-8, 6-5 NEWMAC) exploded out of the gate, winning seven of its first eight games. After dropping their next six, the Blue have responded with victories in two of their last three outings. They picked up a 51-47 triumph over Clark University when they last took the court on Wednesday. Forward Becca Kimball has set the tone with her 15.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Wellesley has also received outstanding play from is backcourt duo of Leslie Leong and Malia Maier. Leong has made an immediate impact on the program during her rookie campaign. In addition to posting 10.8 points per game, she has grabbed a team best 7.4 rebounds per contest. Meanwhile, Maier has recorded team highs of 57 assists and 71 steals to go with 10.5 points per outing. Forward Ashleigh Sargent has chipped in with 7.7 points and 5.0 rebounds for the Blue. 

NEXT UP: Both squads will resume their NEWMAC schedules on the road on Wednesday. Mount Holyoke will visit longtime rival Smith College at 7:00 p.m., while Wellesley will travel to the Coast Guard Academy for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
