SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Feb. 12, 2011) – The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team closed out its regular season with a 9-0 loss to fifth ranked Princeton University this afternoon in front of its home crowd. Princeton swept all nine matches to improve to 9-3 on the year.

Prior to the contest, senior Vidushi Gurunada was honored for her contributions to the program over the last four years. A fixture at the top of the lineup, she has posted a dual match record of 56-17. Over the course of her career, the Lyons have been consistently ranked among the nation's top 15 teams. During her rookie season, they piled up a program best 17 wins and established a new school record by finishing as the 11^th ranked team in the CSA national poll. Gurunada went 19-3 that season and finished as the 32^nd ranked player in the nation. She followed that up with a stellar sophomore campaign. In addition to helping Mount Holyoke retain its standing as the 11^th ranked team in the nation, she advanced to the semifinals of the Holleran Cup with three straight wins at the CSA Individual Championships. Gurunada finished the 2008-09 season with a dual match record of 17-3. During her junior season, she served as a team captain and amassed a 14-9 mark at the number one slot. She has gone 6-2 this season. The Lyons have captured the Seven Sisters Championship in each of Gurunada's four seasons. She was named to the All-Tournament Team three times.

Mount Holyoke rounded out its regular season with an overall record of 13-10. The Lyons have positioned themselves to once again compete for the Kurtz Cup (B Division) at next weekend's CSA National Championships. The tournament is slated to take place at Princeton from Friday through Sunday.

The Tigers will cap off their regular at Trinity College tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
