Squash: Dartmouth at Mount Holyoke

THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke hosts Dartmouth College this evening (5:00 p.m.) at the Squash Courts. The Big Green have gone undefeated in four previous meetings between the programs. After downing the Lyons 9-0 in the final week of last winter's regular season, they prevailed 9-0 in the semifinal round of the Howe Cup National Championships. MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (6-2) has rolled to six straight victories after dropping its first two matched of the year to perennial powers Trinity College and Stanford University. The Lyons streak has included 9-0 wins over Tufts University, Smith College, Wellesley College, William Smith College, Connecticut College and Wesleyan University. Vidushi Gurunada and Tempest Bowden each own perfect records thus far this season. 

Opponent Logo THE BIG GREEN: Dartmouth (3-2) has had an up-and-down start to its 2010-11 campaign. After opening up with 9-0 victories over Bowdoin College and Hamilton College, the Big Green were topped 9-0 by Harvard University and 6-3 by Yale University. They rebounded with a 9-0 triumph over Amherst College when they last took the courts on Saturday.  

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke is slated to host the Pioneer Valley Invitational this weekend. A total of 43 matches will take place at Mount Holyoke, Smith College and Amherst College. Both men's and women's teams will compete in the event, which is scheduled to begin on Friday and conclude on Sunday.

The Lyons will open their weekend against Bates College on Friday at 5:00 p.m. They will then face off against Columbia University at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday before concluding with a match against Colby College at 4:00 p.m. later that day. Over the past four seasons, they have posted a perfect 16-0 mark at the tournament.

Dartmouth will kick off a four match homestand versus Trinity College Saturday at noon.
