Squash Dominates Hamilton and Colgate

CLINTON, N.Y. (Jan. 29, 2011) – The Mount Holyoke College women's squash team breezed to a pair of wins this afternoon at Hamilton University. After downing the host Continentals 7-2, the Lyons blanked Colgate University 9-0. Both matches took place at the Little Squash Center.

In its first match of the day, Mount Holyoke defeated Hamilton for the seventh time in a row. First year Randima Ranaweera, senior Vidushi Gurunada, sophomore Shara Robertson, first year Shaheen Madraswala, sophomore Tempest Bowden, first year Katrina Intal and sophomore Kathryn Brummer came up with wins for the Lyons. They occupied the top seven spots in the lineup.

Mount Holyoke then finished off the sweep with a convincing win over Colgate. It was the Lyons' fourth win in their last five matches and their third straight over the Raiders. From top to bottom, their lineup featured Ranaweera, Robertson, Madraswala, Intal, Brummer, junior Paulina Rojek, junior Marie Ozanne, sophomore My-Linh Nguyen and first year Elyse Taylor..

Mount Holyoke (11-8) will return to action on Tuesday, when it hosts Amherst College at 6:00 p.m.
