Robertson Earns National Player of the Week Honors

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Feb. 9, 2011) – Junior Shara Robertson has earned the College Squash Association Player of the Week award after leading Mount Holyoke College to its unprecedented fifth straight Seven Sisters Championship over the weekend.

Robertson was nearly unstoppable for the Lyons in their 9-0 wins over Smith College and Vassar College on Saturday. Playing in the number three position, she dropped just 15 points en route to earning All-Tournament honors for the third straight year. After cruising to an 11-0, 11-3, 11-4 triumph over Smith's Helen Queenan, she picked up an 11-2, 11-4, 11-2 win over Vassar's Meg Taylor.

In 21 matches played this season, Robertson has posted a 15-6 mark. The junior owns a perfect 6-0 record when competing in the third slot in Mount Holyoke's lineup. Over the course of her career, she accumulated a dual match record of 43-23.

The Lyons (13-8) will return to action on Friday, when they host Amherst College for a pivotal contest beginning at 6:00 p.m.
