  • 2012-13 Squash Year in Review

    Under the direction of interim head coach, Erin Robson, the Mount Holyoke squash team posted an 11-9 record for the 2012-13 season. The Lyons finished with a CSA ranking of 21st nationally, while four student-athletes were among the top-120 players in the nation. The team won the consolation final of the Walker Cup (C Division) at Nationals.

    Mount Holyoke College Director of Athletics Lori Hendricks has announced the hiring of Erin Robson as the head squash coach. The interim head coach during the 2012-13 season, Robson takes over the Lyons full-time after guiding the program to an 11-9 record last year.
  • Squash Concludes Action at CSA Individual Nationals

    Mount Holyoke College's run at the 2013 CSA Individual National Championships came to an end on Sunday as first year Sherouk Khefagy fell in the semifinals of the Second Round Consolation Round. She battled it out, but fell in five sets at the match, which took place at Trinity College.

    Day two of the 2013 CSA Individual National Championships is in the books and Mount Holyoke College saw two student-athletes in action during Saturday's competition. Junior captain Randima Ranaweera and first year Sherouk Khefagy both took to the court at Trinity College.

    Action at the 2013 CSA Individual National Championships began on Friday and four Mount Holyoke College student-athletes were in competition at Trinity College. Juniors Randima Ranaweera and Shaheen Madraswala, along with sophomore Samantha Rosado and first year Sherouk Khefagy all saw action on the opening day.

    The field of competition for the 2013 CSA Individual National Championships has been announced and three Mount Holyoke College student-athletes have been selected. Randima Ranaweera, Sherouk Khefagy and Shaheen Madraswala will all compete in the Holleran Cup (Women's B Draw) beginning Friday at Trinity College.
  • Brummer Garners Prestigious Wetzel Award from CSA

    The College Squash Association has announced this year's recipient of the prestigious Wetzel Award and Mount Holyoke College senior captain Kathryn Brummer has been chosen for the honor. She was selected from five total nominees, which included players from Wellesley, Smith, Haverford and the University of California Berkeley.
  • #20 Squash Posts 5-4 Win in CSA Consolation Final Over #22 Colby

    Fresh off their victory over Wellesley on Saturday, the Mount Holyoke College squash team posted a 5-4 win over Colby College to win the Consolation Final of the Walker Cup (C Division) at the CSA National Championships. With the victory, the Lyons finish fifth overall and conclude the season with an 11-9 team record.

    Paced by victories from the first through the fifth positions, the Mount Holyoke College squash team posted a 6-3 victory over Wellesley College in the semifinals of the consolation bracket in the Walker Cup (C Division) at the CSA National Championships. With the victory, the Lyons improve to 10-9 on the season, while the Blue slip to 8-15 overall.
  • #20 Squash Falls to #21 Drexel in CSA National Quarterfinals, 5-4

    Mount Holyoke College battled to the very end, but came up short in a 5-4 loss to Drexel University in the Quarterfinals of the Walker Cup (C Division) at the CSA National Championships, hosted by Yale University at the Brady Squash Center. The Dragons improve to 8-9 and will face #17 Wesleyan on Saturday at 11am in the semifinals. The 20th-ranked Lyons slip to 9-9 and will face Wellesley, also at 11am on Saturday.
  • #20 Squash Posts 9-0 Victory over #36 Smith

    Mount Holyoke College got victories at every position on its way to a 9-0 victory over Smith College in squash action on Tuesday evening. With the win, the Lyons concluded their regular season schedule and head into this weekend's CSA National Championships with a 9-8 record, while Smith carries a 2-13 mark into Nationals.

    Mount Holyoke College got victories from its first three positions, but Amherst College proved too much in the end as the Jeffs claimed a 6-3 victory over the Lyons on Wednesday evening at the MHC Squash Courts. With the win, Amherst moves to 13-7 on the season, while the Lyons are now 8-8 overall.
  • Brummer Honored as College Squash Player of the Week

    The College Squash Association has announced its weekly award winners and Mount Holyoke College student-athlete Kathryn Brummer was named the Harrow Sports Women’s Player of the Week. A senior captain, she played a critical role in securing the Lyons seventh consecutive Seven Sisters Championship title.
  • #20 Squash Closes Out Hamilton Invite Victorious Over #34 Northeastern

    The Lyons posted a sweep on Sunday, defeating Northeastern by a 9-0 margin to close out action at the Hamilton Invitational. Mount Holyoke improves to 5-7 with the win, paced by junior Shaheen Madraswala, who went 3-0 during the tournament to improve to 6-2 on the season.
  • #20 Squash Shoulders Pair of Losses in Day 1 of Hamilton Invitational

    Junior captain Randima Ranaweera improved to 10-1 on the season as she won in the first position, but it wasn't enough as the #20 Mount Holyoke College squash team fell to #19 Hamilton (6-3) and #14 Franklin & Marshall (7-2) in the first round of action at the 2013 Hamilton Invitational. The Lyons move to 4-7 on the season with the losses.

    Powered by victories from the top six in its lineup, the Mount Holyoke College squash team posted a 6-3 win over Connecticut College on Wednesday evening. With the victory, the #18 Lyons improve to 4-5 on the season, while the Camels slip to 5-11 overall.

    After shouldering a tough-fought loss to #17 Wesleyan University in the morning opener of the Pioneer Valley Invitational, the Mount Holyoke College squash team rebounded for a 7-2 victory over #25 Wellesley in its second match. With the win, the #18 Lyons move to 3-5 on the season, while the Blue slip to 2-10 overall.

    Mount Holyoke saw several players put forth a number of outstanding efforts, but it wasn't enough as the Lyons fell to Williams College by an 8-1 margin. The #10 Ephs, who also played Bates earlier in the day, improve to 6-7 on the season, while the #17 Lyons fall to 2-4 overall. MHC's lone win came from junior captain Randima Ranaweera, who battled through five sets for victory.

    Despite a pair of strong victories from juniors Randima Ranaweera and Shaheen Madraswala, the Mount Holyoke College squash team could not overcome Middlebury College as the #11 Panthers captured a 7-2 victory on Thursday afternoon. The Lyons, who are ranked #17, slip to 2-3 on the season.

    The Trinity College Bantams blanked the visiting Mount Holyoke College Lyons, 9-0, in their return to women's squash action after a 37-day layoff. The Bantams, which are ranked third overall in the nation and are tops in Division III by the College Squash Association, improve to 6-0 with their sixth consecutive 9-0 shutout. The Lyons fall to 2-2.
  • #17 Squash Shoulders Loss at #18 Wesleyan

    The Mount Holyoke College squash team saw its top two players post victories, but it proved not enough as Wesleyan University captured a 7-2 win on Wednesday evening. The victory moves the Cardinals to 8-2 on the season, while the Lyons shoulder their first loss of the year, falling to 2-1 overall.

    The Mount Holyoke College squash team opened its 2012-13 slate this weekend at the Wesleyan University Round Robin. The Lyons, who are ranked #17 nationally in the latest College Squash Association poll, posted a 5-4 victory over William Smith College, ranked #27, to open the day's action. MHC went on to defeat #24 Tufts by a 5-4 margin in the evening session.
