SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Mount Holyoke College Director of Athletics Lori Hendricks has announced the hiring of Erin Robson as the head squash coach. The interim head coach during the 2012-13 season, Robson takes over the Lyons full-time after guiding the program to an 11-9 record last year.

“I am thrilled to continue as the full-time head coach of squash at Mount Holyoke College,” said Robson. “I look forward to working once again with the student-athletes on this team who constantly exhibit passion, inspiration and excellence for their sport and their school.”  

“We are excited to have Erin join us in a full-time capacity to lead our squash program,” stated Hendricks. “She brings great experience and knowledge as a head coach and her commitment to our student-athletes is clear. I am excited for the future of our squash program under her direction.”

A former head coach at Williams College and Smith College, she brings a wealth of experience to the Lyons' program. In her interim year at Mount Holyoke, Robson saw a number of outstanding efforts from the Lyons, who captured their seventh consecutive Seven Sisters Championship title behind All-Tournament efforts from three different players.

Additionally, Robson’s squad finished 21st in the nation among the top collegiate teams, winning the Consolation Final of the Walker Cup (C Division) at the 2013 CSA National Championships. Individually, four of Robson’s student-athletes were selected to participate at the 2013 CSA Individual National Championships.

Robson, who was most recently an assistant at Smith College, served as the head coach at Williams from 1994 till 1997. During that time, where she also held the role of head tennis coach, Robson was responsible for all aspects of the tennis and squash teams. As the head tennis coach, she helped guide the Ephs’ number one doubles team to the NCAA Division III National Championship title.

With the squash program, Robson served as the director of the Williams Squash Invitational, which was one of the largest squash tournaments in the nation, while also holding the position of Ranking Chair for the USWISRA.

Prior to her arrival at Williams, Robson was the head squash coach at Smith. During her tenure with the Pioneers, she helped organize a number of the program's major invitationals. She also served as the assistant coach for the tennis team.

Robson started her career at Vassar College, serving as the assistant coach for men's and women's squash, while also holding the position of sports information director. Among the highlights were coaching two National All-American players at various individual tournaments, including the Princeton Invitational and the Intercollegiate Championships.

A former tennis and squash standout at Amherst College, Robson earned her Bachelor of Arts from the school in 1990. She went on to earn her Masters in exercise and sports studies from Smith in 1994.
