RPI Downs Soccer, 4-0, in Non-Conference Play

Troy, N.Y. - October 2, 2019 - The Mount Holyoke College soccer team fell to RPI, 4-0, in non-conference play on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Lyons are now 2-7-1 overall while the Engineers improve to 4-3-2 on the year.

In net for Mount Holyoke College, Maria-Lucia Delgado (Bronx, N.Y.) made four stops in the setback.

RPI jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage just 12:05 into the contest when Whitney Wisnom (Hillsborough, Calif.) snuck a shot into the bottom right corner of the net. Just 6:44 later, the Engineers added another as Grace Heine (Lee, N.H.) found the back of the net in the 19th minute to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.

The Engineers would tack on two more goals in a span of 48 seconds as Wisnom buried another into the bottom left corner of the net, before completing the hat trick with a shot to the low right corner.

Up next, the Lyons will return to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play on Saturday, October 5 when they host Springfield at 12 p.m. on the MHC Soccer Field.
