Thirty-Three Mount Holyoke College Fall Student-Athletes Earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Recognition

Boston, Mass. - November 7, 2019 - Thirty-three Mount Holyoke College fall student-athletes were recognized for their dedication to both athletics and academics by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) office, earning Academic All-Conference honors following the 2019 season.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2019 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

The Mount Holyoke College soccer team had 10 student-athletes earn the honor, including: Maria-Lucia Delgado, Hannah Finn-Erb, Madison Flueckiger, Claire Glover, McKenna Lamb, Cora Melcher, Lea Sleiman, Lilydahn Stewart, Brianna Thompson and Abby Tuckett. The field hockey team had eight student-athletes recognized, including Phoebe Aaronson, Abby Baldwin, Chelsea Braz, Mal Leighton, Maddie Miller, Micaela Pierce, Margaret Robb and Morgan Turner.

Representing the volleyball team on the Academic All-Conference list was Sasha Simine, Sarah Bishop and Gabrielle Davis, while the cross country team also had 12 student-athletes garner the recognition, including: Sophia Anderson, Kayla Dillon, Sophia Gronbeck, Sarah Hyde, Simone Jacob, Charlotte Lindblom, Katie Milligan, Sydney Nash, Meryl Phair, Hannah Rieders, Madeline Rieders and Natalie Rodman.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 11 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
