Mount Holyoke College Makes Equipment Upgrade in Kendall Complex Fitness Center

South Hadley, Mass. - January 21, 2020 - When the Mount Holyoke College students return to campus for the first day of second-semester classes on January 21, 2020, there will be a new addition to the Fitness Center in the Kendall Sports & Dance Complex. 

In support of the College's "Be Well" program, Mount Holyoke College added a GYM RAX 14 foot single bridge (loaded) by Advantage Fitness Products. Included on the bridge are two Universial Ball Rax, one Trough Rax, one Free Weight Rax, one Rax Bin, 12 Freedom® Mounts, four Climbing Holds, one wall bar, two vertical training mounts and one dip.

"We are excited to add these pieces to our ever-changing inventory of equipment in the Fitness Center," commented Director of Athletics and Chair of Physical Education, Lori Hendricks '92. " The popularity of the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) extends beyond students to employees of the College as well. We love supporting our community's engagement in athletic and recreational pursuits. I am grateful for the College's investment in the "Be Well" program."

Be Well is the College's wellness program that provides students' strategies and opportunities to create their own path to wellness. It integrates four components essential to cultivate a life of engagement, vitatlity, purpose and resilience: a healthy mind, a healthy body, a healthy community and a healthy life. 

Bringing over 25 years of teaching experience in commercial, corporate and academic fitness centers, Jessica Carey will be hosting training sessions for the new Fitness Center Equipment. The dates and times are below:

Tuesday, 1/28 - 5:00 - 5:30 p.m. - students, faculty, and staff
Wednesday, 1/29 - 12:10 - 1:00 p.m. - Faculty/Staff ONLY
