THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke entertains NEWMAC foe Wheaton College Saturday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) at the Mildred. S. Howard Gymnasium. MHC Logo THE MOUNT HOLYOKE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (2-2, 0-1 NEWMAC) has split its first four matches of the season. The Lyons own 3-1 victories over Saint Joseph College and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. They have been paced by outside hitter Martina Kneifel, who has delivered 3.00 kills and 2.31 digs per set while serving up eight aces. Setters Alison Chu and Mollyanne Fitzpatrick have combined for 98 assists. Meanwhile, libero Kaleen Iwema has racked up 3.43 digs per set. Mount Holyoke has also received solid production from outside hitter Kathryn Brummer, who has posted 1.92 kills and 3.25 digs per set. Middle hitter Tyler Protano-Goodwin has chipped in with a team high 11 blocks.

THE WHEATON LYONS:
 Wheaton (2-8, 0-1 NEWMAC) has stumbled out of the gate, dropping eight of its first 10 matches. After defeating Bridgewater State University 3-1 on Saturday, the Lyons edged Mount Ida College 3-2 on Wednesday. Middle hitter Lindsay Tebbetts has piled up 2.33 kills per set, 19 blocks and 13 service aces to lead the way. Wheaton has also received a boost from outside hitter Christina Cannon, who has amassed 1.76 kills and 2.57 digs per set. Setter Olanna Nissim has passed out 6.43 assists per set, while defensive specialist Emily Davisson has collected 4.57 digs per set. 

NEXT UP: Both squads will resume their NEWMAC schedules at home on Tuesday. Mount Holyoke will face off against the Coast Guard Academy, while Wheaton will take on Smith College. Each of the matches are slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
