Mount Holyoke College volleyball faces a very competitive schedule and is working hard to be in contention for a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship. Head coach Iris Carpio looks for student-athletes who are passionate about the sport. The team is built upon the foundation of mutual respect and the ability to communicate in an appropriate manner to solve issues on and off the court.

Program History

The regular season typically begins the first week of September, with the team playing one match during the week and on most weekends. National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III opponents include Wellesley College, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Smith College and Colby College.

The team has gone to the NCAA Tournament three times and had a player selected as a GTE Academic All American three times. Every few years, the team travels to another country. In the spring of 2006 it traveled to Trinidad, where it promoted women’s athletics on the University of the West Indies campus.

As a Mount Holyoke scholar-athlete, you are driven to excel in the athletic arena as well as the classroom and laboratory. The discipline, sense of accomplishment, and competitive edge that you bring to your sport resonate through every channel of your intellectual life.

The desire to achieve - it's all part of the mind-body connection.
