Volleyball Falls 3-0 at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Oct. 26, 2010) – The Springfield College women's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-13) victory over New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe Mount Holyoke College this evening at Blake Arena. With the win, the Pride (27-3, 8-0 NEWMAC) clinched the top seed in next week's NEWMAC Tournament.

Volleyball

Outside hitters Kathryn Brummer and Martina Kneifel totaled five kills apiece to lead the way for the Lyons. The duo also finished with eight and 10 digs, respectively. Meanwhile, senior setter Kateryna Kuc delivered 15 assists and eight digs. First year Kristina Weld added four blocks.

Mount Holyoke (8-16, 0-8 NEWMAC) will round out its 2010 slate at home against Babson College on Saturday. The NEWMAC tilt is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
