NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Sophomore goalie Evie Krieg made eight saves and the Mount Holyoke College soccer team tied Coast Guard 0-0 in the Lyons' seventh shutout of the season on Saturday.
The host Bears (2-10-4, 2-5-2 NEWMAC) were held out of the winning column on their Senior Day, despite significant advantages in shots (28-3) and corner kicks (11-0), ending their 10-game winning streak against the Lyons dating to 2013.
Emily Scharnitzky made two saves for Coast Guard.
Mount Holyoke (4-4-6, 1-4-4 NEWMAC) has its most conference points (7) since the 2015 season, when the Lyons finished 4-3-3 in the NEWMAC and 9-7-3 overall.
Krieg (Frisco, Texas) has made 67 saves against six goals allowed this season, for a conference-best .918 save percentage. Her 7.44 saves per game also leads the conference, and her .774 goals-against average ranks second in the NEWMAC. The clean sheet was her fifth of the season.
The Lyons remain in the hunt for a NEWMAC playoff bid, with two games remaining: at home against Smith Wednesday at 7pm, and at WPI next Saturday, Nov. 2 at WPI.
