BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Babson College went up 1-0 on an own goal in the fourth minute, and carried its momentum through the duration of the game as the Beavers defeated the Mount Holyoke College soccer team 5-0 in a NEWMAC game on Saturday.

The Beavers (4-4-3, 2-1-2 NEWMAC) did most of their damage early with three goals in the first half-hour of the match. The hosts opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Mack Feeney's shot drilled off the crossbar before going off the back of a Mount Holyoke defender to make it 1-0.

Priscilla-Rose Men-Martin scored the first goal of her career in the 27th minute, one-touching a shot through traffic off a corner by Jordyn Ferrantino for a 2-0 advantage. The Beavers added to the lead less than two minutes later, again off a Ferrantino corner, as Laura Lukowicz rose up over a defender to beat Lyons sophomore goalie Evie Krieg (Frisco, Texas) with a driving header to make it 3-0.

Babson had a 16-0 shots advantage in the first half and led 3-0 at intermission. The Beavers added two more goals to their lead in a more subdued second half, when they outshot the Lyons 6-0. Elisa Delitizia scored her fourth goal of the season in the 57th minute and Olga Metelkine added a score with 2:51 remaining in the game.

Krieg allowed four goals and made seven saves in 68 minutes for Mount Holyoke. Sophomore Emma Zoubok (Somers, N.Y.) kept goal for the final 22 minutes, allowing one score.

Mount Holyoke (3-3-4, 0-3-2 NEWMAC) next plays at Springfield Wednesday at 7pm.
