WESTWOOD, Mass. -- Mount Holyoke sophomore Schuyler Pettibone received the second NEWMAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award of her career on Tuesday, as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference announced the first weekly student-athlete awards of the 2024 fall season.
In Saturday's season opener at Eastern Connecticut State, Pettibone (Raleigh, N.C.) sent a free kick from midfield to assist on the game-winning header by junior midfielder Anna Kennedy (Glendale, Wis.) to give Mount Holyoke a 1-0 shutout win.
Pettibone claimed the same award on Oct. 16, 2023 after scoring the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at Wheaton.
Pettibone and the Lyons will host Western Connecticut State in their home opener on Wednesday at 7pm.
