Golf Concludes Action at Jack Leaman Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Apr. 21, 2013) - Led by a 13th-place finish from sophomore Madi Mendiola, the Mount Holyoke College golf team finished 11th overall at the 2013 Jack Leaman Invitational. The Lyons posted a combined score of 784 at the invite, which took place in Amherst on day one and at their own course, The Orchards, on day two.

Mendiola, who was 13th after day one, maintained her position in the final standings after posting a score of 83 on day two. She recorded a combined score of 165 at this year's event. Finishing second on the team and 53rd overall was sophomore Hannah Falvey, who had a total score of 197 (95-102).

First year Hannah Lozinski saw a strong improvement from day one, finishing in a tie for 56th with a day two score of 98. Overall she had a combined mark of 208. Senior Lee Anglin finished 58th overall with a score of 214 (108-106), while first year Katie Poulin was 63rd with a combined score of 246 (122-124).

Ithaca won this year's title with a combined score of 642. The Bombers' Sharon Li rallied on day two to take top individual honors, shooting a 73 - just one shot above par at The Orchards - to finish with a two-day total of 152.

The Lyons conclude their spring slate next weekend when they compete at the Williams College Spring Invitational, hosted by Williams College. Action begins on Saturday and runs through Sunday.
