Golf Concludes Day 1 at NYU Invitational

BRONX, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2012) - Day one of action at the 2012 NYU Invitational is in the books and through the first round, the Mount Holyoke College golf team is 12th overall. The Lyons posted a combined score of 381 and were paced by sophomore Madi Mendiola.

Mendiola shot an 80 on day one, finishing in a four-way tie for 11th overall. Placing second on the team after the first day was senior Felicitas Gerlach, who is currently 56th with a score of 97. Sophomore Hannah Falvey is close behind with a day one score of 98, good for 58th overall, while senior Lee Anglin and first year Hannah Lozinski sit in a tie for 65th overall with scores of 106.

Amherst's Sooji Choi and Williams' Shelby Shote currently lead the field on the Par 72 course at the Pelham Bay Golf Course. Both posted a day one score of 74. As a team, Williams holds a one-stroke lead over Amherst for first place. The Ephs combined for a score of 312 on the day.

Action at the NYU Invitational continues on Sunday, beginning at 11am.
