Golf Solid After Day 1 at Middlebury Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Day one of action at the Middlebury Invitational has concluded and through the first round, the Mount Holyoke College golf team sits sixth out of 10 teams in the field. Pacing the way for the Lyons was sophomore Madi Mendiola, who is currently tied for second overall in the field of 50 participants.

Mendiola shot a 79 on day one and is tied with host Middlebury's Keely Levins for second. Senior Felicitas Gerlach is second on the squad with a score of 99. She sits in a tie for 27th overall.

Classmate Lee Anglin has posted a score of 116 to sit in 39th overall, while first years Hannah Lozinski and Katie Poulin round out the squad in 40th (118) and 46th (137), respectively.

Williams, which was the winner of last week's Mount Holyoke Invitational, currently leads the field at the Middlebury Invite with a combined score of 328. The Lyons currently have a total score of 412.

Action at the Middlebury Invitational concludes tomorrow morning.
