Golf Holding Strong After Day 1 of Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Amidst periods of strong winds and rain throughout the majority of play, the first day of action at the Williams Fall Classic is in the books. Through the first round, the Mount Holyoke College golf team is 10th of 14 competing teams. Leading the way is sophomore Madi Mendiola, who sits in a five-way tie for eighth with an 84.

Currently Williams leads the event with a combined score of 325. The Ephs hold a 15 stroke lead over second place Ithaca (340), while Cortland State is third with a score of 341. The Lyons have a combined 384 after day one.

Action at the Williams Fall Classic concludes on Sunday at 8:30am with a shotgun start.
