BRONX, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2012) - Led by a fifth-place finish from sophomore Madi Mendiola, the Mount Holyoke College golf team placed 11th overall at the 2012 NYU Invitational. The Lyons posted a combined score of 360 in the final day of action, boosting up two spots in the field of 13 teams.
Mendiola shot a 77 on day two, finishing with a combined score of 157 for a two-way tie in the fifth spot.
Placing second on the team was senior Felicitas Gerlach, who finished 45th at the meet with a score of 181. Sophomore Hannah Falvey posted a score of 196 overall (98-98) to finish in a tie for 60th, while first year Hannah Lozinski and senior Lee Anglin finished 63rd and 65th, respectively with scores of 207 (106-101) and 216 (106-110), respectively.
Williams' Shelby Shote won medalist honors at this year's invitational, posting a combined score of 151 (74-77). As a team, Williams won the team honors, finishing first overall with a score of 624.
