Golf Competes at Ann S. Batchelder Invitational

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Day one of action at the Ann S. Batchelder Invitational, hosted by Wellesley College has wrapped-up and through the First Round, the Mount Holyoke College golf team is seventh of eight competing teams.  Leading the effort on day one for the Lyons was sophomore Madi Mendiola, who is currently tied for second overall in the field of 45 participants.

Mendiola (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) shot a 76 on day one and is tied with host Williams's Georgiana Salant for second. Senior Felicitas Gerlach (Munich, Germany/Munich International School) is currently second on the squad with a score of 92. She sits in a tie for 22nd overall.

Sophomore Hannah Falvey (Minneapolis, Minn./The Blake School) is 38th with an opening round score of 109, while first year Hannah Lozinski is one stroke behind in 39th with a score of 110. Rounding out the efforts on day one for the Lyons was senior Lee Anglin (Milton, Mass./Milton), who is 43rd with a score of 125.

Williams currently leads the field with a combined score of 316, followed by Merrimack (322) and Vassar (343). The Lyons currently have a total score of 387.

Action at the Ann S. Batchelder Invitational concludes tomorrow morning.
