Conti Named Golf Rookie of the Week by Liberty League

TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League has announced its weekly award winners in golf and Mount Holyoke College student-athletes and June Conti has been recognized as the Rookie of the Week after helping the Lyons to a third-place finish in the fall season finale meet at Wellesley.

For the second straight week and the third time overall this season, Conti, a first year out of Amenia, N.Y., garnered top rookie honors after placing ninth overall and first among all conference first years at the Ann S. Batchelder Invitational. She shot a combined 162 at the meet, including a 79 on day one and an 83 in the final round. Overall, MHC posted 660 points

Last week, Conti earned Rookie of the Week honors after placing fifth overall at the Williams Invite with a score of 155. Day one saw her post a score of 80, but she rallied on day two to post the second lowest score on the afternoon, a 75.

It has been an outstanding season for the former Miss Porter's School standout, who has finished top-20 in all five meets during the fall. She opened the season with a 14th place finish at NYU and picked up her first Rookie of the Week honor after finishing 15th overall at the MHC Invite. Conti also posted 16th at the Middlebury Invitational as the Lyons posted third overall as a team.

The golf team, which finished the fall campaign in the top-five for all five invitationals, is now idle and returns to action in the spring.
