Golf Currently Seventh at NYU Invitational

SUFFERN, N.Y. - After day one at the NYU Invitational, the Mount Holyoke College golf team sits seventh overall in a field of 11 teams. It marks the first meet of the season for the Lyons, who have posted a combined score of 341 through the first round of action. Leading the way is junior captain Madi Mendiola, who sits in fourth overall.

Mendiola (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) owns a score of 77 on the par-72 course. Close behind Mediola is first year June Conti (Amenia, N.Y./Miss Porter's School), currently 17th overall with an opening score of 84.

First year Caroline Rubino (Mansfield, Mass./Bishop Freehan) is currently tied for 28th after day one with a score of 87, while classmate Allison Shilling sits in a tie for 44th with a mark of 94. Rounding out the team score efforts for the Lyons was first year Amanda Lee (Windsor, Conn./Ethel Walker School), who is 48th with a score of 96.

Also competing for Mount Holyoke as an individual is first year Kelly McElreath (Oakland, Mich./Notre Dame Prep), who is 59th overall after shooting a 112 in the opening round.

Williams College currently leads the field, shooting a combined score of 311. Host NYU is second with a score of 321, while Middlebury rounds out the top three with a mark of 329.
