WESTWOOD, Mass. -- Sophomore outside hitter Madeline Barton was named NEWMAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week Monday by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference, after her outstanding performances led the Lyons to a 2-1 week.
Barton (Brookfield, Wis.) led the Lyons with double-digit totals of kills in all three matches last week, with 17 against MCLA, 15 against Framingham State and 12 against Elms. She averaged 4.00 kills with a .288 attack percentage on the week, to go with 3.18 digs per set. Barton currently ranks second in the NEWMAC in kills per set (4.06).
Barton and Mount Holyoke return to action Tuesday night at 7pm, playing host to Dean College.
