Five Lyons named CSC Academic All-District in track & field

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke track and field program qualified the maximum five student-athletes for CSC Track & Field Academic All-District honors, announced Tuesday by College Sports Communicators.

Earning the honors were senior Chloe Broadwell (Plano, Texas), senior Tessa Lancaster (Mansfield, Mass.), senior Aria Mallare (Chicago, Ill.), junior Elle Rimando (Mililani, Hawaii), and sophomore Ioanna Tsoni (Athens, Greece).

The 2025 Academic All-District Women's Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. Criteria for the award are listed below.

Broadwell graduated in May with a degree in geology and a cumulative grade point average of 3.96. She ranked 35th in the discus throw in the Mideast, with a top effort of 94'3".

Lancaster graduated in May with a 3.95 GPA while double-majoring in environmental studies and biological sciences. One of the better distance runners ever at Mount Holyoke, Lancaster ranked 18th in the Mideast Region this year in the 3,000 steeplechase (11:41.90) and 23rd in the 10,000 meters (39:26.48).

Mount Holyoke's two-year team captain, Mallare graduated in May with a 3.97 GPA and a major in biological sciences. She qualified for All-Academic honors in three events: she ranked 30th in the high jump (4'9"), 33rd in the long jump (16'0.5"), and ninth in the 4x100 relay (49.22).

Rimando became Mount Holyoke's first athlete to compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships since 2015, after qualifying for nationals in the triple jump. Rimando qualified for CSC Academic All-District in four events: she ranked third in the Mideast Region in the triple jump (39'1"), 16th in the long jump (17'5.25"), 33rd in the 100 meters (12.76), and ninth in the 4x100 relay (49.22). The architectural studies major maintains a 3.77 GPA.

Tsoni joined Rimando in qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, thanks to her lofty national ranking in the long jump, although she did not compete at the meet. A psychology major with a 3.90 cumulative GPA, Tsoni qualified athletically for Academic All-District honors in five events. She ranked second in the Mideast Region in the long jump (19'4.25"), sixth in the triple jump (38'7"), ninth in the 100 hurdles (14.89), 40th in the 200 meters (26.56), and ninth in the 4x100 relay (49.22).

Academic Eligibility Criteria

Academic eligibility minimums for the award are: An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.

Athletic Eligibility Criteria

Eligible nominees will be based off TFRRS regional performance rankings at the time of nomination. Note: Only individual ranked performances are to be used for eligibility. If a student-athlete has participated in a RELAY EVENT, that can bolster the nomination but the basic criteria to be met is for INDIVIDUAL performances. Relays cannot be the basis for eligibility.
