SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Standout Mount Holyoke College student-athlete Kathryn Murphy '22 earned a final individual honor to her vast resume over the summer, as she was named a 2022 First Team Individual Scholar All-American by The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 and participated in their national championship.

Murphy became Mount Holyoke's first-ever diving All-American last winter, and was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) At-Large Academic All-District First Team in May.

At the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships last March, Murphy earned All-America honors in the 3-meter diving event as the senior took eighth place overall. Murphy also won a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) title on the 3-meter board, becoming the first-ever conference champion in diving at Mount Holyoke.

A double major in biology and politics, Murphy graduated with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.89 and was also named the Mount Holyoke College Senior Athlete of the Year.

Murphy also graduated as the swimming and diving program and pool record holder in the 1-meter six-dive event, with a score of 293.17 points, in addition to the 3-meter 11-dive event with a score of 491.55.

Prior to the 2022-23 academic year, Murphy was named diving coach at Clarkson University.
