Murphy Earns All-American Accolades at 2022 NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. - March 19, 2022 - Senior Kathryn Murphy (Fairport, N.Y.) collected All-American accolades after placing eighth overall in the three-meter dive at the 2022 NCAA DIII Women's Swimming and Diving Championships hosted at the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Natatorium on Saturday evening.

The Biology and Politics double major earned All-American accolades after posting a score of 423.10 in the 11-dive three-meter board, which was best for eighth overall. Murphy is the first diver to earn All-American honors dating back to before 1998 and is the first student-athlete to earn All-American honors at an NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving Championship in six years since Cathleen Pruden '16 was All-American in the 400 individual medley in 2016.

Murphy started out the day strong placing fifth overall out of 29 divers in the preliminary three-meter board by recording a score of 442.20. The senior's fifth-place finish qualified her for the three-meter Championship Final, where she continued her strong campaign by notching a score of 423.10 which earned Murphy eighth place overall.
