SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Head coach Abby Wemhoff and the Mount Holyoke basketball program are thrilled with the addition of the program's first-ever full-time assistant coach, former Division I student-athlete and professional player Trinity Bravo, who started with the Lyons prior to the season.

"I am super excited to be working with Trinity this season," said Wemhoff. "The initiative she has taken with skill development during our small groups has already shown vast improvements in our players. The energy Trinity brings is really fun to be around, and I'm thrilled to have her on the team."

"I am incredibly grateful and excited to join the Lyons family as an assistant basketball coach," Bravo said. "Being entrusted with this opportunity is both an honor and a responsibility that I take to heart. This role means so much to me, because it combines my passion for basketball with my commitment to helping student-athletes develop both on and off the court."

After an all-state career at Kolbe Cathedral High School in Bridgeport, Conn., Bravo played at Division I Bryant University in 2018-19 and 2019-20, making an immediate impact with the Bulldogs and helping them reach postseason play each year.

Covid and an injury kept Bravo off the court in her junior and senior seasons at Bryant, but her commitment to basketball didn't waver. Bravo played the 2023-24 season at Division II Post University as a graduate student-athlete, helping the Eagles reach postseason play. Bravo then began to play professionally for MTS-ARBA in Costa Rica, helping the team reach postseason play in October. She ranked among the club's top five players in every major statistical category before accepting the Mount Holyoke position.

With a first-year head coach in Wemhoff and Bravo leading Mount Holyoke, the Lyons are winless (0-6) in the early going but have already shown improvement from recent campaigns. Four of the team's six losses have come by single-digit margins, and the Lyons are averaging 54.5 points per game thus far, compared to their 37.6-point average last season, which included a 43.2-point average throught the first six games of last year.

"My goal is to bring energy, knowledge, and a relentless focus on improvement to the program," said Bravo. "I aim to instill a winning mindset in our athletes, helping them not only succeed in the game but also in life. My focus will be on fostering an environment of accountability, hard work, and growth while making meaningful connections with each player. I'm looking forward to contributing towards the winning culture that the Lyons program will be known for and am ready to work tirelessly to support the success of our team."
