A floater in the lane by Twomey closed the gap to a point (51-50) for the final time in the game, as Mitchell made three straight defensive stops while getting a Streitmatter layup with 2:03 left.
Following three straight costly turnovers by the Lyons, Hypolite was fouled and made both free throws for a 55-50 Mitchell lead with 42 seconds remaining. A layup by senior Cal McGonagle (Yarmouth, Maine) with 9 seconds to go closed it to 56-52, before Mitchell's Kyrsten Lucas made 1 of 2 free throws with six seconds remaining to ice the game.
