DEDHAM, Mass. -- The 2023 outdoor track and field season concluded Saturday for the Mount Holyoke College Lyons with strong efforts from senior captain Emma Doyle in the shot put and sophomore Tessa Lancaster in the 5,000-meter run at the all-divisions NEICAAA Outdoor Championships, hosted by Northeastern University at Dedham Field.

Doyle (West Lebanon, N.H.) concluded her abbreviated but outstanding track and field career at Mount Holyoke with an 11.08-meter (36'4.25") effort in the shot put on Saturday -- Doyle's best mark in the past three weeks but shy of her personal-best mark of 12.29 meters from March 26 at Wesleyan University.

Lancaster (Mansfield, Mass.) ran the 5,000 in sweltering heat Friday evening, finishing in 18:47.75 to place 25th out of 33 competitors, ninth among Division III runners. Lancaster ran her personal best time of 18:25.99 in the event on April 8 at the Amherst Spring Fling.

A biology major with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average, Doyle is completing her graduation requirements in just three years, and will conclude her MHC career with two years of NCAA eligibility remaining. Doyle ranks second all-time in team history in the outdoor shot put (12.29 meters), sixth in the discus (33.47 meters), and 10th in the hammer throw (35.66 meters). On the program's indoor all-time performance lists, Doyle is fourth in both the shot put (11.54) and weight throw (12.73).
