SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke College track and field team performed admirably in four events but did not score any points with a top-eight showing at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships, held Friday and Saturday at Springfield College.

Sophomore Tessa Lancaster (Mansfield, Mass.) placed 12th out of 23 competitors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday with a time of 11:38.95, Lancaster's second-fastest career time after her team-record time of 11:36.54 from a week ago at the NEWMAC Championships.

Senior captain Emma Doyle (West Lebanon, N.H.) placed in the middle of the pack in both the discus throw and shot put on Saturday, placing 16th and 22nd, respectively, in those events. Doyle topped out at 33.45 meters (109'9") in the discus throw, and 10.95 meters (35'11.25") in the shot put.

On Friday evening, junior captain Bridget Hall (Arlington, Mass.) placed 17th in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 41:17.00.

Mount Holyoke competes at the all-divisions NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Northeastern University at Dedham Field in Dedham, Mass., on Friday and Saturday, May 12-13.
