MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- The Mount Holyoke College track and field team notched several career-best performances at the Middlebury Field & Track Meet, a seven-team, non-scoring meet held Saturday.
Mount Holyoke's highlights from the day included:
- Senior captain Emma Doyle (West Lebanon, N.H.) had the top mark among 21 competitors in the shot put with a top effort of 11.45 meters (37'6.75"), the second-best of her career. Doyle also finished fifth-best out of 20 in the weight throw (11.80 meters).
- Sophomore Greta Trapp (La Crosse, Wis.) ran the second-fastest mile out of 21 competitors with a career-best time of 5:36.79. Also running personal-best times in the event were junior Bridget Hall (Arlington, Va.) in 5:43.24, junior Orion Griesmer (Austin, Texas) in 5:51.18, and first-year Maya Evans (Topsfield, Mass.) in 5:59.88.
- Sophomore Erin Siegel (San Diego, Calif.) joined Doyle in making the final in the weight throw, with a top effort of 10.12 meters (33'2.5") that wound up eighth-best out of 20 competitors.
The Lyons will compete Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Mount Holyoke-Smith-Wellesley Tri-Meet, hosted by Smith and starting at 10:30am.
