Swimming and Diving Garners CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Recognition; Records Seventh-Highest GPA in Division III

Colorado Springs, Colo. - January 29, 2020 - The Mount Holyoke College swimming and diving team was honored for their success both in the pool and in the classroom as the Lyons garnered College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team recognition on Wednesday.

The Lyons produced a cumulative grade-point average of 3.65 in the 2019 fall semester, which was the seventh-best of the 183 Division III women's swimming and diving programs that were recognized. Mount Holyoke College also had the second-best GPA in the New England Region and the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). 

The CSCAA selected a record 762 programs from 480 institutions across all Divisions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2019 semester.  The teams were selected on the basis of their Fall grade point averages and represent 17,685 student-athletes. Over sixty percent of the selections (470 teams) belong to women's programs.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.

The Lyons return to action on Saturday, February 1 as they compete at Western New England at 12 p.m.
