Nemivant Collects NEWMAC Women's Diver of the Week Honors For Second Time This Season

South Hadley, Mass. - December 9, 2019 - For the second time during the 2019-20 season, senior Samantha Nemivant (Scottsdale, Ariz.) of the Mount Holyoke College swimming and diving team has been recognized for her performances by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), as she was named the conference's Women's Diver of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon.

Nemivant, who was also named the NEWMAC Women's Diver of the Week on October 28 , posted a pair of nationally-qualifying scores this past weekend to help Mount Holyoke College to a fifth-place finish at the Don Richards Invitational, hosted by RIT on Friday and Saturday. A Chemistry major at Mount Holyoke College, Nemivant took first among 11 student-athletes competing on the one-meter board on Friday night with a nationally-qualifying mark of 445.55. On Saturday morning, Nemivant outlasted a field of seven student-athletes and posted another nationally-qualifying score of 451.90 en route to a first-place finish. Both diving competitions consisted of 11 dives.

The Lyons will return to competition on Friday, January 10 when Mount Holyoke College hosts a tri-meet with New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foes Clark and Wheaton at 1 p.m.
